Our Story
Bobbie Jean’s is currently operating out of The Lightered Knot along with other local businesses. The Lightered Knot opened in 2011. Mrs. Patty Rogers along with the Mississippi Coastal Plains Resource Conservation & Development Corporation (MCPRD) created the space with the intention of it being an incubator for small local businesses that do not have access to a commercial kitchen.
Bobbie Jean’s food is made completely from scratch and draws from my early experiences working in farm to table establishments where I learned everything from making pasta to butchering whole animals and fish. Having a meal at Bobbie Jean’s means no canned green beans, no premade cornbread mix and no powdered vanilla pudding base for our Banana Pudding. What having a meal at Bobbie Jean’s does mean is Pimento Cheese made with fire roasted peppers and hand grated cheddar, Cornbread made with fresh stone ground cornmeal from Mississippi grown corn and local beef raised 15 minutes from our door step.
Owning and operating a restaurant in my hometown of Wiggins, Mississippi is legitimately a dream come true. The Lightered Knot is a small and spartan space, but the support from the community that helped raise me has been humbling. And this is only the beginning. Come share a meal with us as Bobbie Jean’s continues to grow and journey forward!
